WEEK 28

Week started out with a lot of work, extremely hot. Didn’t work as much as last week but didn’t get as much rest either. Weather got cooler, market went up. Then there was still the World Cup, the Gulf oil spill and the morning show. And some other stuff I can’t mention.

DAY 172

Just saw two big-assed bucks in front of my building. I could have ridden them. This is proof that we need more water.

LOVE LETTERS

Ironic that two of the poems which were most unforgettable to me have the word “letter” in them. I read Li Po’s The River Merchant’s Wife: A Letter in high school. It deals with love which grows yet sets limits: http://homepages.wmich.edu/~cooneys/poems/li-po-pound.html

Four years later in college I read A Letter by Anthony Hecht. While this protagonist also misses the object of his affections, he is in a different predicament and writes “I would have you know that all is not well” in the final stanza:

NOT HANDLING THIS WELL

Still dealing with K's death, even though I didn't kill him.

DAY 171

You have to wonder who is the dumbest, the people in these videos, the people who kill them, the people who watch them or the people who comment on them:

WEEK 27

Market pretty lousy, weather, pretty good, turned in my Census badge then got called back.

Taking flak for things that aren't my fault and dealing with some hairy stuff too personal to mention.

CANADA DAY

Bonne Fête du Canada!

“will be spending CANADA DAY right here on the Chesterfield with my feet planted firmly on the broadloom, paying the hydro bill and sipping a double-double from Tim Horton's. I'll only be getting up to use the washroom in the centre of the house, to walk down to the harbour or to grab another Molson from the fridge, eh?!”
REQUEST

Prayers, good thoughts, positive energy, naked moonlight dances etc. requested. Thanks!
DAY 167

Got panhandled by the dwarf again.

ECLIPSE

Saw “Eclipse” with the Mix people at the Regal in Rockville. I can understand why the fascination with werewolves, vampires etc lingers on. For a guy who’s supposed to be a werewolf, Jacob doesn’t have much body hair. Maybe he waxes it off.

Also, couldn’t help remembering Cassandra’s native American name is “farting wolf.”

Biden cusses at custard man: http://www.opposingviews.com/i/at-it-again-biden-calls-custard-shop-owner-a-smartass

To his credit, soft ice cream is bigger in Delaware than frozen custard. Still, there is a difference.
