TOLD C ABOUT A PROPERTY IN SPRINGFIELD
His response was "You would be miserable there - no real public transportation is just the tip of the iceberg. I can't really see you living outside of DC, except for maybe Takoma Park." I wish everyone knew me that well. And if I had a nickel for everyone who said "you could move to Maryland or Virginia and save money" I could buy a new condo.
That's not true for a couple reasons:
1) I'd lose my medical insurance and UDC resident tuition
2) From what I've seen the suburbs aren't that much cheaper, except for Takoma Park. I'd lose my benefits and some parts of it aren't that nice.
3) I don't have a car. If I saved any money probably most of it would go into cabs, Ubers, buses, trains etc. And I would have to get up earlier and go to bed later because of travel time.

EMAILS, WE GOT EMAILS
I got a response to my Craigslist posting saying "How in the World someone from Mensa who's been at the same Job for 15 years & in a Home for 20 years lose her home --So you basically wasted 20 years of your Life for Nothing --Sad real sad --Good Luck to you" My response was "go fuck yourself. Apparently no one else will." What a dickhead.

Made it through the DC Housing Expo without dissolving into tears every time some perky exhibitor asked "are you a homeowner?"
I did choke up a couple times, though. At least one of the Hells Fargo guys said he was sorry.
