THE SPOON THEORY

A lot of it is bullshit. First of all, it doesn't just apply to people with chronic illnesses. ALL of us have a limited number of "spoons," be they time, money or physical/emotional energy. 

As someone on the Illness Fakers Reddit said, spoons are not currency or lifeblood. You can get them for free at Taco Bell. And if not there, then at McDonald's or 7-11. Longtime  chronic illness patients are apparently saying "enough already. We don't want to hear about your spoons." 

And there's the Spork Theory.
